Mistake
I recently had a dream in which the U.S. government was requiring all of its citizens to know the name of NASA’s launch pad. In the dream I said the name of it was “Mistake.”
Hmmm. What does that mean? Now before all of our space enthusiasts get upset, we have to remember that God does not see things the same way we do. Jesus said, "that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God" (Luke 16:15). He said this to help us keep our seemingly great accomplishments in perspective. As we are busily spending billions of dollars to send a human being out into a vast expanse of uninhabitable air space, God is watching multitudes of children die simply because they do not have any clean water to drink, and He’s watching many more starve to death, because they have no food to eat. In other words, we can send a man to the moon, but we can’t or won't provide for the world’s children.
“Well, if God is so great, then why doesn’t He do something about it?” I can hear someone ask.
He has. He has given billions of dollars to certain powerful nations and they’ve spent it on the elaborate hot air balloons of man’s outer space fantasies instead of healing the wounds of the world’s neglected poor
If we genuinely have the mind of Christ, we’re not going to be impressed that a human being has managed to stroll upon a desolate moon, although I’m sure God has a purpose for it all. We now have pictures of what desolate looks like. In God’s eyes, do those empty craters and barren plains resemble the landscape of a compassionless soul?
Amazing! Just moments after
I posted this article (9|16|09) I checked the news and saw a report that food aid is now at a twenty-year low, while the number of hungry people will pass one billion for the first time. The UN reports that it's facing a serious budget shortfall. Is anybody out there listening?
Amazing again! I just read (10/08/09) that NASA has spent 79 million dollars to see if there is water on the moon. While they are doing this God has watched another child die because there is no clean water to drink in her village. It only costs a couple of thousand dollars to drill a well to save lives here on earth. NASA, I think you are making a gigantic, foolish, costly mistake.
